Privacy policy
What LsUp uses, what others can see, and the choices you have.
Effective October 18, 2026. This policy covers the LsUp NYC beta and these support pages. The beta operator is David. Contact elbazadavid@gmail.com for privacy questions or requests.
Account and activity
We use your email for sign-in codes and account support. Your profile includes a display name and username. We store your saved restaurants, ratings, structured restaurant opinions, daily answers or skips, friend connections, and any reports or blocks you make. We use this information to run the app, personalize results, enforce participation rules, and address abuse.
Your display name, username, residence badge, and published ratings can be visible to other members; public profile and rating endpoints may also be accessible without signing in. Daily answers and opinions appear in aggregated city or friend results. Your email, residence evidence, saved list, blocks, and reports are not published as public profiles. An accepted friendship enables friend-specific recommendations.
Residence review and location
The beta uses a private live review of current NYC residence evidence. Show the operator only what is needed to establish your identity and NYC residence, covering unrelated details. Do not email or upload your lease, bill, identity document, or account numbers. LsUp does not offer document uploads or retain copies of residence evidence.
We store the request, decision, verified city, review time, operator reference, and expiry. City-only review does not store an exact home coordinate or grant neighborhood or walking-distance eligibility. The beta does not request device GPS permission. Restaurant search uses a public city or neighborhood center and your search words.
Service providers
Supabase hosts account authentication and app data. Resend delivers sign-in emails. Expo/EAS and Apple support app builds and beta distribution. These public support pages are hosted through OpenAI Sites infrastructure. Infrastructure providers may process technical information such as IP addresses and request logs to operate and secure their services.
Google Maps Platform supplies restaurant search, details, maps, and photos. Search words and a public search area are sent to Google through our server; loading Google imagery, maps, or attribution links can also send your device’s IP address and technical request information to Google. We retain Google place IDs and temporarily retain restaurant coordinates for up to 29 days; other Google restaurant metadata is fetched for display. See the Google Privacy Policy. Google Maps features are also subject to the Google Maps/Google Earth Additional Terms.
Optional diagnostics
Error reporting is off by default and can be changed in Account. When enabled, we record a fixed error category, app version, platform, and day as aggregate counts. We do not send error messages, stack traces, search text, documents, sign-in codes, or precise location in these events. A separate account-linked daily counter limits submissions. The app deletes these counts after 30 days in its daily cleanup. This does not capture every native crash. Apple may separately collect TestFlight diagnostics under its own beta terms.
These support pages contain no advertising or analytics scripts. The app uses necessary local storage for sign-in sessions. LsUp does not sell personal information or use advertising trackers in this beta.
Retention and deletion
We retain your account and activity while you use LsUp. You can delete your account from Profile → Account, privacy & support → Delete account. This removes the active account and associated verification, ratings, answers, saves, friendships, reports you submitted, blocks, and diagnostic preference. Reports about abusive activity may remain while investigated; operator decision logs follow the 90-day cleanup described below. Aggregated diagnostic counts are not linked to your account and expire through the cleanup above.
Open abuse reports remain while they are investigated. Closed reports and the operator decision log are removed after 90 days by daily cleanup. Residence approval expires after six months; previous decisions remain in your account history until account deletion. Deleted information may remain temporarily in provider-managed backups or security logs under those providers’ retention settings. Support emails remain in the operator’s mailbox while needed to handle the request; ask us to delete correspondence when your request is resolved, subject to any required retention.
Your choices and questions
You can edit your name and username, remove saves and ratings, remove friendships, block or unblock members, turn diagnostics off, and delete your account. Daily answers and skips are locked after results are revealed. Email the operator to request access, correction, or deletion of other account information; we may verify control of your account before acting. Do not include passwords or sign-in codes.
This beta is intended for adults aged 18 and over. If a child has provided information, contact us so we can address it. If we change these practices, we will update this page and provide notice in the app for material changes.
